More and even more whacked-out nutty spoiler pics from "200" at up at Gateworld:

http://www.gateworld.net/news/2006/08/200parodiessci-fiandfantas.shtml

(Note: clicking takes you right to a page where you can see the spoiler-pics, so don't click unless you want to know.)

Man. I can hear fandom exploding, and the ep hasn't even *happened* yet.

I think this is going to call for the *heavy* drinking. Yup.

OK, the Wizard of Oz thing is cute (though how can they do it without Jack?!) But the picture-in-the-upper-left-that-shall-not-be-named? Nearly made me reflexively gouge my eyes out. Ugh! Ack! Argh! Ptui! EEEEEeewwwww!!!! But yeah, you know that about me. ;-)

Yeah, it doesn't really bug me. I'm more intrigued by the fact that Jack is not wearing his dress blues, like, at all. (I believe he would be entitled to wear them instead of a tux, even if he were retired.)

Besides, seriously -- have you SEEN the rest of the pictures? This ep is made from PURE CRACK. God only knows what the context will actually prove to be. It could be a giant fake-out montage teasing us about Sam potentially marrying any guy who has ever been on the show, ever. Considering that it's in the overall context of a crack episode, I realy don't mind giving the shippers their moment, or their icon-fodder (though I'll still always like the wedding pic from "Point of View" better). For an ep like "200", I think it would actually be weirder if they *didn't* make a joke about this.

People are just going to take this episode WAY too seriously, aren't they? I've already seen scorn and vritiol over the S/J pic and over Vala being Dorothy and not Sam. Eesh. I may have to just encase myself in a bubble after this ep.

Do you know, I actually typed out 'vitriol' FOUR different times and then deleted and tried again... and still got it wrong? Oh yes!

People are freaking already. It's a parody episode. I say the majority of this episode can't be counted for anything.

Even the wedding looks (or sounds to be) cheesy. I mean, I seriously doubt all Sam/Jack fans want their couple to have a "canon" cheesy wedding. Who wants that? Since they can't really marry Sam and Jack in the context of the show, they have to do it in a crack episode. I'm totally fine with that. Let the poor people get as close as they can.

The rest of you can do the real thing and do it far better in fic anyway.

So heck they can ship Daniel's glasses with Sam's laptop for all I care. It's just all in good fun ;)

Yup, I know what you mean. Even after I said that I *knew* that people would gripe, someone *still* had to snipe about it in a comment to my post.

*sigh*

It's *crack*, okay? It's gonna poke fun at everyone and everything.

From here on out, I think I'm just going to keep my head down and STFU. But I've really enjoyed the little teasers we've gotten on Sci-Fi. They bring me joy.

The only thing that concerns me is who pitches the wedding idea. If it's Sam or Jack or even Daniel and Teal'c it will turn my stomach. Because it just seems out of character for them. Anyone else? I don't care. And I don't care there is a wedding in this episode. I mean LOOK at the episode ;)

My other concern is the amount of Jack. So far, I've only heard mention of him in the wedding scenario. I seriously hope he's in other parts of this episode.

From: [identity profile] eregyrn.livejournal.com
I've seen spoiler pics that prove that he's in at least 3 other parts of the ep. (Pics of him in dress blues; in black BDUs; and in olive BDUs outside or offworld.) So that bodes well. *shrug* He could be in more. We'll see, I guess.

Man, for all we know, it's WALTER who pitches the wedding. At any rate, it's not just who pitches it, but how they pitch it and in service of what joke that will matter to me. Somehow, I just don't see it being played straight, as it were. With sincere sappiness, I mean.

I'm a little sad that we don't get to see Jack as the Scarecrow. :) But Cam might fit the role even better, particularly if it's Vala who's Dorothy. ;-) (I'm actually pleased that my guess about who would be which role has pretty much been borne out. I remember AT joking about it on one of the Lowdowns at one point, but she got it "wrong", I think she had Daniel as the Scarecrow, and I forget what else.)

Those pictures look like a lot of good crack! So I am not worried. If they are mocking and adressing issues about the show, they can't avoid the Jack/Sam thing and I am pretty sure the writers will be faithful to themselves and don't give shit of a resolution so, nothing to be worried about!

Exactly. I mean -- just look at the 4 pictures. Three of them are so far OUT THERE in AU-land as to be absolutely absurd... so what does the juxtaposition of a S/J wedding pic with them say about how it ought to be regarded?

And yes -- I think it would be just silly for them to do an ep like this and not deal with the S/J thing at all.

*Jaw drops* Is that--- am I really seeing Teal'c as D'argo? Sam as Chiana? Am I dreaming?

And, man, side by side with the other pictuers you can really see how much more technicolor Farscape was...

But I'm dreaming right? Hallucination caused by lack of sleep, right?

Ok, so it took me most of today to get on LJ to talk about this here. (I've added you to my flist, it's about time anyway...)

See, at first glance I didn't realize that one picture of them dressed up in Farscape costumes was for real. I mean, I keep joking about Fargate, and Starscape, but as odd as the SG1 has gotten with Ben Browder and Claudia Black on it, that level of quirky oddness isn't something they do that much of.

I do watch SG1 and Atlantis every week, though I think I've been more into Atlantis than SG1 the past season and a half, I'm not to jazzed about the Ori. The Wraith are much cooler. In my opinion, of course.

Yeah, SG-1 doesn't usually get that wacky. But they do make exceptions every once in a while, usually for special occasions.

Oh, thankyouthankyou for linking to that -- I was away and I might've missed it, and that would have been tragic. These pics have cured me of my watch-wincing-through-my-fingers fears. I cannot wait for this insanity to air now. Too fun.

Love your / [livejournal.com profile] telepresence's idea about them panning back from tuxedo!Jack to reveal that he's best man for somebody else, and also agree that it would be cruel to S/J fans. (I'm torn between sympathy for the fans and antipathy to what the ptb did with the characters; I don't want those ptb, whichever ones they are, to vindicate themselves even in a fantasy, but I can't help feeling that they really should take the opportunity to quit teasing the S/J fans, just for the one brief moment.) Also noted with interest the tux instead of dress blues. (If Carter's wearing a wedding dress, isn't it maybe fairer for O'Neill to be in civilian clothes as well? Assuming it's an Air Force Carter and O'Neill, in whatever AUtastic context ... Hmm.) Also like the 'Point of View' wedding pic better -- that one's charming and I have a lot of fondness for it.

So you heard there was going to be a nod to Firefly too? That would rock.

Also like the 'Point of View' wedding pic better -- that one's charming and I have a lot of fondness for it.

I adore that pic. It is just the cutest thing. I realize it's more Rick and Amanda than it is Jack and Sam, really -- but given that it's sort of Jack, he just looks scrumptious in it. Plus there's just the fact that it's a pic that isn't *just* a static wedding pic, but one that imparts characterization as well. It doesn't just communicate "Sam and Jack got married", it communicates, at least in a glimpse, what kind of relationship they are supposed to have had. That's not just two characters getting married. That's two characters clearly having a ball together, even at their own wedding. And that's kinda cool.

So kudos to whoever decided on using that pic as the prop in that ep. I've always wondered if they went into creating that shot wanting something more dynamic than just a static wedding pic -- or if that was just the happy result of RDA goofing around with AT, as you would expect (AT has always said that he makes her crack up a lot more than they ever show on screen), and somebody just had the brains later, looking at all the shoot's pics, to say, "This is the one to use".

So you heard there was going to be a nod to Firefly too? That would rock.

Yeah -- but to be honest, I was disappointed by that. I misread what was said about it, and thought it implied a *visual* nod to FF. Whereas, the nod came in the form of the "performed well on DVD" comment. Which was funny, but I'd been hoping to see "the cast in Firefly get-up".
