More and even more whacked-out nutty spoiler pics from "200" at up at Gateworld:

http://www.gateworld.net/news/2006/08/200parodiessci-fiandfantas.shtml

(Note: clicking takes you right to a page where you can see the spoiler-pics, so don't click unless you want to know.)

Man. I can hear fandom exploding, and the ep hasn't even *happened* yet.

I think this is going to call for the *heavy* drinking. Yup.

OK, the Wizard of Oz thing is cute (though how can they do it without Jack?!) But the picture-in-the-upper-left-that-shall-not-be-named? Nearly made me reflexively gouge my eyes out. Ugh! Ack! Argh! Ptui! EEEEEeewwwww!!!! But yeah, you know that about me. ;-)

People are just going to take this episode WAY too seriously, aren't they? I've already seen scorn and vritiol over the S/J pic and over Vala being Dorothy and not Sam. Eesh. I may have to just encase myself in a bubble after this ep.

Do you know, I actually typed out 'vitriol' FOUR different times and then deleted and tried again... and still got it wrong? Oh yes!

Yeah, it doesn't really bug me. I'm more intrigued by the fact that Jack is not wearing his dress blues, like, at all. (I believe he would be entitled to wear them instead of a tux, even if he were retired.)

Besides, seriously -- have you SEEN the rest of the pictures? This ep is made from PURE CRACK. God only knows what the context will actually prove to be. It could be a giant fake-out montage teasing us about Sam potentially marrying any guy who has ever been on the show, ever. Considering that it's in the overall context of a crack episode, I realy don't mind giving the shippers their moment, or their icon-fodder (though I'll still always like the wedding pic from "Point of View" better). For an ep like "200", I think it would actually be weirder if they *didn't* make a joke about this.

Vala-as-Dorothy is odd in some ways and not in others. *shrug* I did have a moment of wondering what Sam would *be* in a WoO scenario, if not Dorothy (and then my brain went to a Bad Place that had Vala as the Wicked Witch of the West, but a la "Wicked", you know, very SEXY). I also think having it be Vala is odd from a storytelling standpoint only because -- to date, Vala has not become as familiar with Earth pop-culture as, say, Teal'c has, so where does she even get the idea for a WoO spoof? Unlike Sam, Daniel, and Teal'c, who hung around Jack for 8 years while he constantly made WoO jokes.

(Oh. Right. Movie Night is now canon, and if I were the SG-1 people, I'd show WoO to the newbie very early on. Check. Nevermind.)

*shrug* I think you're right that way too many people will be taking it way too seriously, and I'm like -- man, WHY? This ep is clearly cracktastic from top to bottom. We get to see these folks act out various wacky ideas, but none of those acting-outs are any more "real" than any others.

Telepresence commented that he wonders if that pic will turn out to be another fake-out, with Jack acting to give Sam away or acting as best-man while Sam marries... ??? And I thought about that for a second, and though, yeah, that'd be evil, but -- actually I hope not. If you're going to give the ship folks a Sam/Jack wedding scene, then *give* it to them, don't jerk them around any more. That's just kind of mean. (And I say this from a position that I would not, at this moment, risk any money in a bet on whether we get a *good* slash joke anywhere in the ep.)

Anyway, the pic I'm most boggled by is the lower left one. :)

I don't know. Didn't the article come out saying that "not is all as it seems" in the wedding scene?

As much as I'd love a fake out personally, I would rather them just have the fake Sam/Jack wedding. Just give the people that ship them something so they can stop being jerked around. This is a crack episode anyway. It's complete parody. I don't know who would pitch the wedding idea, but the actually scenes seem to be complete humor.

I'm okay with that.

I just know people are going to go nuts.

(I have not viewed pictures and I am only semi-spoiled. I've onyl see the wedding dress pic so I don't have as much info as everyone.)

I am not going to go clicky either ;) I just wanted to put my two cents in

People are freaking already. It's a parody episode. I say the majority of this episode can't be counted for anything.

Even the wedding looks (or sounds to be) cheesy. I mean, I seriously doubt all Sam/Jack fans want their couple to have a "canon" cheesy wedding. Who wants that? Since they can't really marry Sam and Jack in the context of the show, they have to do it in a crack episode. I'm totally fine with that. Let the poor people get as close as they can.

The rest of you can do the real thing and do it far better in fic anyway.

So heck they can ship Daniel's glasses with Sam's laptop for all I care. It's just all in good fun ;)

Yeah, the tux thing definitely caught my eye, too. It's like they know it's so wrong for long-time commander and subordinate to get together that they just couldn't bring the uniform into it.

Of course it's crack and fake and all of that (thank god!). I just wonder whose fantasy it is, hmm? And my reaction is just a knee-jerk "Eeew, I don't want to see it!" The other fantasies look funny, though, and we know there's a zombie one, too, that should be pretty silly.

The only thing that concerns me is who pitches the wedding idea. If it's Sam or Jack or even Daniel and Teal'c it will turn my stomach. Because it just seems out of character for them. Anyone else? I don't care. And I don't care there is a wedding in this episode. I mean LOOK at the episode ;)

My other concern is the amount of Jack. So far, I've only heard mention of him in the wedding scenario. I seriously hope he's in other parts of this episode.

Oh -- I think I know what you mean by "the wedding dress pic", but -- I *would* put money right now on that NOT being a wedding dress pic. The one you are referring to, I actually think was a spoiler-pic from a different upcoming ep, "The Road Not Taken", which we'd be getting in the 2nd half of the season. No confirmation either way yet, but -- in the pics I just linked to, there *is* a S/J wedding-like pic, and Sam is not wearing what she was wearing in that previous pic. So I think my guess is looking more and more likely.

Be that as it may -- yeah. I just can't get bothered over them making a wedding joke in an ep that is jokes from top to bottom. Especially if, hopefully, it's actually *funny*.

Ha! Yeah, the Farscape is sort of neat! Even though I've only seen a few eps (you may have to explain the jokes to me), I think it's rather cool that they're doing a FS thing. I wonder if BB and CB will be reprising their old roles briefly?

And yeah, I thought about the big fake-out with S/J too, and they might as well just do it and give everyone the wedding. It's the perfect episode to do it in, and they're never going to make everyone happy with it anyway, so just do it and lay it to rest.

Now, one of the things I'm most interested in seeing is if there *will* be mention of the J/D thing. Because it just seems so wrong not to do *something* with it, especially after giving it so much verbal attention during commentaries and such.

They have to do something.

I've seen spoiler pics that prove that he's in at least 3 other parts of the ep. (Pics of him in dress blues; in black BDUs; and in olive BDUs outside or offworld.) So that bodes well. *shrug* He could be in more. We'll see, I guess.

Man, for all we know, it's WALTER who pitches the wedding. At any rate, it's not just who pitches it, but how they pitch it and in service of what joke that will matter to me. Somehow, I just don't see it being played straight, as it were. With sincere sappiness, I mean.

Oh, hell no. No cheesy weddings in my pairing, please! Ack! I have no interest in a Sam and Jack living happily ever after, but then... I don't consider myself a wacky, insane shipper either. I'd have lost complete interest in the pairing if they'd gotten together and set up house with babies.

So heck they can ship Daniel's glasses with Sam's laptop for all I care. It's just all in good fun ;)

Heeee! I still think it would be the best thing EVER if it all ended up with Sam and Daniel getting married. And yeah, that's purely for the "fandom boom" factor, but HAAA!

From: [identity profile] eregyrn.livejournal.com
*points* Yeah, that's very much like Telepresence's idea -- you pull back and discover that Jack is actually being best-man for... Daniel. Or Teal'c. Or... Barrett. Whoever.

Which would be hilarious in one sense, but kinda mean in another.

(I still don't get why Jack's wearing a tux and not dress blues. Maybe we'll find out.)

Yup, I know what you mean. Even after I said that I *knew* that people would gripe, someone *still* had to snipe about it in a comment to my post.

*sigh*

It's *crack*, okay? It's gonna poke fun at everyone and everything.

From here on out, I think I'm just going to keep my head down and STFU. But I've really enjoyed the little teasers we've gotten on Sci-Fi. They bring me joy.

I have read/heard in more than one place that the J/S thing will be addressed *both* ways. Both for J/S shippers and non-(anti?) shippers. Take from that what you will.

I do think it's a mistake to read too much into it, seriously. This is sort of the AU to end all AUs, you know?

Telepresence and I were trying to figure out who'd be who in a FS scenario. We thought it would be extra-hilarious if you put MS in the Crichton role... or better, CB as Crichton and MS as Aeryn... with BB doing who-knows-what.

(But I pointed out that we don't know the duration of some of these things. In the Treks spoof we've only seen CJ and BB as yet. In the Oz spoof, AT is missing. So maybe not everybody will be in the Farscape spoof. And there's supposed to be a Firefly spoof as well? So...)

As funny as a fake-out in the wedding would be, yeah -- look, just give S/J a wedding, even a jokey one. Because I think that only getting a wedding in a completely crack-filled ep can't exactly be everything a diehard shipper would want, in a perfect world, either. So no, you can't make everyone happy -- but throw 'em a bone.

At this moment, if you wanted me to put money on them doing a J/D joke at ALL... I would not put more than $10 on it.

And you know? I'm AFRAID of what joke they might do, if they actually do it. Because OH GOD, if they're going to do a J/D joke, could they not be homophobic, please? PLEASE? See... this is the show that has made deeply stupid homophobic jokes on-screen in the past, and... to be honest, I would rather they not do it at all, than doing it in *that* way.

maybe you'll get lucky and Sam decides she wants to marry Jack and Daniel at the same time.

Might be easier on Jack's knees.
