This test has the same problem *all* personality tests seem to have, which is that it doen't distinguish between perceived reality and perceived value. It assumes that whatever choice you pick both "is you" *and* "is what you value", when in fact the way the question is worded (or not worded, in the case of this particular test) can really skew the results.

For instance, all of these tests at some point(s) ask you to choose between "rational" and "passionate". If the question asks how I do things, I'm as far to rational as the scale goes. If the question asks "which is desireable", then I skew towards passionate, because I know it's a lack I have, and appreciate it in others (and in myself, when I can stir it up). If the test doesn't know what it's doing, then my responses are all over the map and the results are pretty meaningless.

This particular test is especially annoying, because it just asks which you "prefer", and then asks you to make value judgements between two equally valuable choices. If you *do* choose right down the middle, you get "Golden God", which frankly smacks a little too much of the sort of pandering you get from a standard cold reading.

Bah, humbug.

Agree. I was discussing with Len that of all these quizzes, I probably hate these "rate which of these you prefer" things, especially when it's not either-or, but graduated. Just as when I am filling in a box on a performance evaluation thing, I enormously dislike choosing any of the extremes. And yes, you're right about the other weaknesses of it, too.

(I didn't pick straight down the middle, in fact I'm not sure that I picked *any* neutral choices, but I didn't pick any extremes either.)

But then, I also don't like multiple-choice quizzes in which NONE of the offered answers is something I want to choose, and that doesn't offer me a "none of the above" choice either.
