They SAID that we were supposed to get maybe an inch of snow overnight, and then it'd turn to sleet and then to rain later (it seems to be 32 now, maybe a little colder where I am; supposed to get to about 40). Maybe the latter is true, we'll see, but: check it out, I think that's a bit more than "an inch" that we've gotten so far.

Note: I live on a fairly busy main street. That's how not-clear and empty it is. It's true that it's stopped snowing now, inasmuch as what is now falling is tiny ice pellets. Joy. And man, it's blowing! Fortunately, it really does seem like nearly everyone has gotten the memo not to go outside. I'm sure not going anywhere!

Ditto! I had a few things to do today- a party to go to this afternoon and an appointment later in the day, but I'm staying inside. I'll probably go out in an hour to shovel out my car so I'm not dealing with a "Magic Shell" coating of frozen snow tomorrow.

I can't believe we got another 4 inches on top of what we got on Thursday!

Yeah; I think we have more like an additional 6". It's hard to tell because of the way its drifted around things, but looking at those cars...

If it really does get up to 40 degrees and rains for a significant period of time, I don't know WHAT we're going to end up with... and I don't really know what I should plan to do. When to go out and shovel? "Warm" rain would maybe wash away a lot... but it'd also turn the snow into something really waterlogged and heavy. Ugh.

Well, I just went out and cleaned off the car and did a little shoveling, and it's pretty brutal. It's now icing- with biting pellets, and the snow itself is pretty heavy and hard to move.

Still, I'm glad I did it, because it won't be quite as much of a job tomorrow. Yuck!!!

Wow. O_O It's been so long since I've seen snow -- it didn't really snow when I was up for Arisia this year, did it? There was maybe a little dusting, but it was mostly just wet, IIRC...

Wow, you did get a lot of snow. We've got about a foot already. I went out to dig out my car and the other neighbor had cleaned it all off for me! Sometimes humans are cool.

:::smooch::: Glad you're home and cozy with the cats.

Yeah, getting to work this morning was FUN! Luckily, John was able to follow plows for a while, which helped.

I'm staying home too... and keeping warm with mulled wine. :P

Unfortunately, it's a little too strong. Maybe should've went with a shiraz or merlot instead of cabernet savignion.

Man, I so do not miss Boston winters. I do not miss having to chip my car out, or having to chop through the ice ridge the snow-plow has left. I certainly don't miss slipping down the stairs on black ice. Bleah. Here's wishing a little bit of our hot dry summer your way.
