Not a good sign...
Dec. 10th, 2007 09:22 amThis week is NOT starting well. I slept badly last night (and no, Jenlev, before you ask, I *still* haven't remembered to get any Tension Tamer tea), woke up groggy, and hauled myself out of bed anyway because I knew that it was ice-storming last night and that I'd have to chip my car out so I needed to get moving. Took a shower and got dressed and everything. Went out the door -- slipped on the invisible black ice on my second step down from my porch, ended up flat on my back. Hit the rear of my left hip on the way down so hard that I had to lay there in pain for a while before I could stop crying. I think I hit my head, too.
When I finally made it back to my feet (very carefully; but the fact that I *could* make it back to my feet means my hip must not be broken or even cracked, just very deeply bruised), I stood there for a while, but honest to god -- the entire back driveway is nothing but old ice from last week with this new extra-slick coating of ice on it, and my car is sheathed in that new extra-slick and doubtlessly hard to chip off ice, and I couldn't even imagine getting OVER to my car, let alone doing all around it chipping at it. Which makes me an utter wimp, because clearly, my two neighbors managed to chip *their* cars out and *leave*. But the fall really good and freaked me right out.
I think I will be calling in "sick". :P *sniff*
