You know how they always say that you can't see rain on television?

Can somebody explain to me why I'm watching the SuperBowl in a DOWNPOUR? I mean, *damn*, that is some torrential rain.

It's not that I object. I just thought it was an axiom that they now picked SuperBowl cities on the basis of (a) their having a domed stadium, so that (b) petty things like THE WEATHER couldn't affect the outcome of the game.

Actually, I like watching them slip and slide around in a downpour a lot better. (And that shit has not let up in the past, like, 20 minutes at least.)

Short commercials report (more later; I just tuned in): I still hate Kevin Federline, even if I did in fact kind of laugh at his ad. But I laughed harder at the Bud Light axe-murderer hitchhiker ad. Also: Grissom is BACK on CSI? He was GONE? God, I'm behind.

gods, it must be pouring. and as a reflection of how out of it i am....i thought i was in a domed stadium. yikes, they would be forgiven for wanting scuba gear.

if i get sucked into staying up late and watching this can i blame you? because i'm now checking it out, and yup, that's a lot of rain.

meanwhile back on the animal planet channel..puppies play. a lot.

A couple of the SuperBowls back in the 70's were played in a frikkin' blizzard... seriously! Actually, I'm glad they're going back to playing in an open stadium; it makes the game that much more interesting.

I laughed at it, but doesn't that ad imply that Bud Light drinkers are either serial killers or morons?

Oy, the referees' shirts are so wet I can see their chest hair.

Grissom was gone for like 2 episodes. So if they're making a huge deal out of it they're really stretching things. I have no idea what's really going on with him though...

:) Considering it was over at 10pm, no, you can't really blame me for staying up "late" to watch it.

Yeah, exactly, that's what I think. Let the weather be a deciding factor! It's way more interesting.

I had just been reading commentary over the past few years about how they were always selecting SuperBowl cities on the basis of thinking the weather there would be good, and I could have sworn that I read somebody say that they tended to have it in domed stadiums now. Not that I can recall exactly, over the past few SBs. But enough for it to be surprising to tune in and see, well, WEATHER. Serious amounts of it, too.

Yeah -- not a good look!

And yes -- actually, I feel that the Bud Light commercial implies that Bud Light drinkers are BOTH serial killers AND morons. But considering they're Bud Light drinkers? Hey, I'm willing to laugh at that.

Well, I dunno -- as I said, I'm totally out of the loop, so they're all, "Grissom's BACK!" and showing a clip of him saying, "I missed Las Vegas", and I'm like, huh?

Two eps makes a lot more sense than that he had left the show or something and I had somehow missed hearing about it.

He's back to the beard too, I see.
