Well, crud...

This makes me very sad:

("JoWood scraps Stargate SG-1: the Alliance Video Game")
Odd as it may seem, I was actually really excited about the game. I am not a big gamer (most of my friends would say that, apart from the occasional entertaining button-mashing on "Soul Caliber II", I am not a gamer *at all*), although I've been tempted by various things -- but this was making me plan on acquiring a used PS2 console or something to play it on. I was all excited over the screenshots of it that were released a few weeks ago.
But mostly -- well, call me pathetic, but I was honestly thinking to myself on Friday night, well, that's it, there's no more Jack on SG-1 to look forward to, but I can look forward to the game, because in a sense, that's *sort of* some new Jack stuff, and new old-team stuff.
Considering that MS said that he recorded something like 200 pages of script for it himself (I think that's the correct number), and I imagine the other cast did roughly the same; and considering all the trouble they went to, to scan the actors' faces and all -- dude, that is a *LOT* of pretty good material down the drain, there. There's the question of whether they will ever resurrect the game, and re-use any of that. One would like them to -- but if they do resurrect the game, what are the odds that they'll scrap all the old stuff and redesign it from the bottom up to be geared towards the New Team? (*sob*) Although,
telepresence commented to me that if their main concern is moving it to a different, newer engine to work with the next generation of platforms, it may be more possible that they'll retain the existing material. Dunno.
But... poop. Not this year, anyway. Phooey.
